Logical Reasoning Questions for Class 2 with Answers

10 logical reasoning questions for Class 2 with answers: series, odd one out, analogies, coding-decoding and directions.

  • practice-questions
  • class-2
  • reasoning

By Class 2, reasoning questions go beyond spotting shapes. Children complete number and letter series, find the odd one out, solve analogies ("bird is to nest as bee is to…"), crack simple codes and follow directions. These are the question types in every Olympiad's reasoning section.

Here are 10 Class 2 reasoning questions with answers from our Logic Quest track.

10 Class 2 Reasoning questions with answers

Ask your child to answer each question out loud first, then tap Show answer to check. The questions get a little harder as you go down each topic.

Patterns & Series

Q1. What comes next: Red, Blue, Red, Blue, Red, ___?

A) Blue
B) Red
C) Green

How to help your child with Class 2 Reasoning

  • Ask for the rule, not just the answer. "It goes up by 3 each time" is the real skill.
  • Use everyday puzzles. Directions on the way to school, the order of people in a queue or patterns on floor tiles are all reasoning practice.
  • Mix question types. In an exam, the types don't come in groups, so practice shouldn't either.
  • Draw it out. For directions, rankings and family trees, a quick sketch solves most questions.

Olympiad connection

Logical reasoning appears in every SOF Olympiad (IMO, NSO, IEO, NCO and IGKO), so time spent here pays off across all of them. See our guides: Olympiad exams for Classes 1–5 · logical reasoning practice.
