Class 3 reasoning questions need more steps: longer series, trickier odd-one-out sets, analogies, letter codes and directions with two or three turns. Children who practise these regularly usually do noticeably better in Olympiad reasoning sections.
Here are 10 Class 3 logical reasoning questions with answers.

How to help your child with Class 3 Reasoning
- Ask for the rule, not just the answer. "It goes up by 3 each time" is the real skill.
- Use everyday puzzles. Directions on the way to school, the order of people in a queue or patterns on floor tiles are all reasoning practice.
- Mix question types. In an exam, the types don't come in groups, so practice shouldn't either.
- Draw it out. For directions, rankings and family trees, a quick sketch solves most questions.
Olympiad connection
Logical reasoning appears in every SOF Olympiad (IMO, NSO, IEO, NCO and IGKO), so time spent here pays off across all of them. See our guides: Olympiad exams for Classes 1–5 · logical reasoning practice.
